Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actress and model. She was born on November 11, 1966. Alison Doody made her feature film debut as a Bond model in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she starred as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. She played Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was approached by a photographer and started to perform the role of a model. Then she began an industry-wide career in commercial modeling. Doody was extremely determined not to do the glamorous work or doing nude. The same rule continued into Doody's acting work. After catching the eye of the casting director for the upcoming James Bond movie, she was cast of A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody was named one of the top twelve promising actors of the year in 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody had just turned 18 when she was given the role as a Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl to date. Another early movie had her in a minor role as IRA member Siobhan Donovan on A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she starred Mickey Rourke. The Storyteller episode from 1988 included her in the leading character in Sapsorrow, alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The first time she appeared was in the movie Taffin opposite Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played the role of Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian Nazi-sympathizer and archaeologist opposite Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. Doody has co-starred alongside Jonathan Pryce, in the British miniseries Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Doody later moved to Hollywood. She was Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen, as well as her girlfriend for Major League II. She was chosen to be the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who was L'Oreal's first spokeswoman. Doody who was away from acting for almost 10 years, returned in 2003 to play a small part on The Actors, a British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine played her in a scene at an awards ceremony. In 2004, she starred in a film with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She was also on Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). The Clinic, a medical drama that aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. Pam Jefferson, the character she played in E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season, which ran for two seasons. In 2014 she starred in We Still Kill the Old Way.
